At Cumbria Waste Group, we are able to recycle or recover the vast majority of waste we handle.
The small amount of material that is left is known as residual waste. This is still a valuable resource and can be turned into a residual derived fuel (RDF).
The waste is shredded, dried and baled and then burned to produce green electricity, which can be returned to the National Grid.
Converting waste into energy doesn’t only divert waste from landfill. It also reduces greenhouse gas emissions because it avoids the need to burn fossil fuels to produce energy.
Signicantly, it is safe and does not harm the environment.
If would like to find out more about our energy recovery service please call or email for your free, no-obligation waste audit and quotation. You may also find the graphic below useful in explaining how RDF works.
