Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

March 12th, 2020

We are currently operating on a ‘business as usual’ basis and monitoring closely the Government’s advice and guidance via their website together with other guidance from Public Health England and the Health and Safety Executive.

We have already implemented a number of additional preventative measures to assist efforts to prevent the spread of the virus. These measures cover hand washing, the use of sanitisers and reminders to employees about how to recognise the symptoms.

We respect the need / requirement for staff to self-isolate in specified circumstances and will as far as possible support them to work from home during the isolation period.

In relation to any requirement to collect waste we will follow the current advice from Public Health England relating to waste collections from premises where people are either self-isolating as a precaution, or where Covid 19 has been confirmed. That is no waste will be removed until suspected cases have proven negative, with double plastic bagging being used for this waste. No waste will be collected from premises where Covid 19 has been confirmed until specific advice has been given.

Whilst, we will make every effort to ensure that any service disruption is kept to a minimum, events are unfolding in real time and we will respond to such events proactively prioritising key services if necessary. We will follow the guidance from Public Health England in the event of any requests to collect waste from locations where there is self-isolation or where an infection case has been confirmed.

In the meantime we continue to monitor events closely.
