Campaigns

To help raise awareness of the need and benefits of recycling, the council runs various intiatives and campaigns.

At present there are a number of campaigns in place:

  • Campaign for "Real Nappies"
Encouraging mothers to use terry towelling nappies as opposed to disposable nappies by giving away free "Real Nappies".
  • Golf Days
  • R-Factor
A singing competition with separate north and south Cumbria professional recording prizes.
  • Free garden composters
DIY composting is easy if you have a garden compost bin.  Free garden composters are being given out for you to get started recycling your own kitchen and green waste.
  • Free kitchen caddies
Designed for kitchens to collect food waste that would otherwise be binned.  Designed for schools.
